MaxPoint Interactive’s cookie is used by its ad-serving products. This cookie is not client-specific.
This means that, if you choose to opt out of MaxPoint Interactive's cookie, your opt-out cookie will
be effective for all of the websites and advertisers that use MaxPoint Interactive’s ad-serving
technologies. Please note that most major third-party online advertising companies have agreed to
provide an opt-out mechanism for their ad cookies. For more information, please visit
www.networkadvertising.org.
Please also note that the websites and advertisers that use MaxPoint Interactive’s cookie are required
to post a privacy statement that describes their data collection activities in connection with their
use of ad-serving technologies. For more information on these activities, please consult the privacy
policies for those websites and advertisers.
If you do not want a unique cookie from MaxPoint Interactive, there is a simple procedure to follow.
Click here to replace your unique MaxPoint Interactive cookie with an opt-out cookie.
What happens if I choose to opt out?
The system will assign you a cookie with the following "value": mxpim=optout instead of a cookie
that contains a unique string of characters, e.g. mxpim=1234567.
When you receive this cookie, MaxPoint Interactive’s systems will know that you have opted out and
will not attempt to assign other cookies in the future. Since the MaxPoint Interactive opt-out
cookie does not contain a unique user number, it does not allow your browser to be identified uniquely.
PLEASE NOTE that if you erase or otherwise alter your browser’s cookie file (including upgrading
certain browsers) you may need to opt out again.
PLEASE NOTE that opting out of the ad-serving cookie does not mean that you will stop seeing
either pop up advertising or banner ads embedded in websites!
